In a bid to ensure transparency and accountability in the representation of Ondo East and West Federal Constituency, Ekimogun Roundtable has taken the proactive step of writing to the Speaker and Clerk of the National Assembly.
The group in the letter signed by its acting secretary Christiana Ayodele is seeking detailed information on the plenary attendance record of Hon Abiola Makinde, the member representing their constituency in the 10th Assembly.
The group is reacting to intel that Hon Abiola Makinde abdicated his legislative duties and travelled out of the country for several weeks thereby rendering the entire constituency without representation.

As concerned citizens and stakeholders in the legislative process, Ekimogun Roundtable says it is invoking relevant provisions of the constitution, the Freedom of Information Act, and the standing order three of the House of Representatives to request this vital information.
The group is also urging the National Assembly to make available Hon Abiola Makinde’s travel information to ensure proper oversight and representation of the constituency in line with the relevant standing order of the House.
It is imperative that lawmakers uphold their responsibilities and obligations to their constituents, and Ekimogun Roundtable is committed to ensuring that Hon Abiola Makinde and other public officials remain accountable and transparent in their duties as representatives of the people.
The group however threatens legal action against the National Assembly should its request be not acceded to by the National Assembly in line with extant regulations.
