To reduce road crashes, the Enugu State government, yesterday, commissioned a computerised vehicle inspection centre for motorists. The centre, which can investigate 210 vehicles daily and employs over 40 workers, is in partnership with Temple Group of Companies.
The centre is one of four in different locations in the state. They would also address issues of roadworthiness for such vehicles. Commissioning the facility, Governor Peter Mbah, who was represented by the Commissioner for Transport, Dr Obi Ozor, stated that the state-of-the-art facility represents a significant leap forward in the state government’s commitment to ensuring road safety, environmental protection and the overall well-being of citizens.
Ozor said: “As we gather here today, we are not merely opening a new building; we are ushering in a new era of transportation safety and efficiency in Enugu State.”
