Professor Amos Utuama, the former Deputy Governor of Delta State, has died at the age of 77 due to a prolonged illness.
Born on June 5, 1947, the former deputy governor hailed from Ughievwen in Ughelli South local government area of Delta State.
He had a distinguished career in politics, serving as deputy governor to Emmanuel Uduaghan from 2007 to 2015 under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Additionally, Utuama held the position of commissioner for justice and attorney general of Delta State during James Ibori’s administration.
Ibori, Utuama’s former governor, has paid tribute to the late professor, describing him as a “humble, loyal, and esteemed Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice” who executed his duties with unwavering commitment.
