Explosion, fire at Rivers LGA secretariat

A section of the Eleme Local Government Area secretariat in Rivers State has been gutted by fire following an explosion at the place.
The new Chairman for the LGA, Brain Gokpa and his councillors and supporters, discovered that parts of the Secretariat complex were on fire when they resumed for work.
This development happened a day after the the Rivers State Governor Sim Fubra swore in newly elected Local Government chairmen in the state.
The Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission had organised the election on Saturday. The Action Peoples’ Party won 22 of the 23 Local Government chairmanship seats in the state.
