Unconfirmed report has it that a factional speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly has emerged.
He is Victor Oko Jumbo, the member representing Bonny Constituency in the State Assembly.
It could not be ascertained how he emerged factional speaker. But, he is among the four legislators loyal to Governor Siminalayi Fubara since the political crisis erupted in October, 2023.
Even the state government hasn’t said anything in that regard. But rumours making the rounds said the governor, Siminalayi Fubara, might be working with him.
However, an anonymous source in the government confirmed the emergence of Jumbo as the factional speaker.
According to the source, Jumbo was elected elected by his three colleagues during their sitting in Port Harcourt today.
