Family car collides with stationary truck in Imo: Eight dead

It was a grisly end of the year in Imo as eight members of a family perished when their vehicle collided with a stationary truck at the Amanwozuzu junction, Ikeduru Local Government Area (LGA) of the state.
The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of the Ikeduru Local Government Area of Imo, Lucky Ahiole, confirmed the development to newsmen in Owerri, the state capital on Friday.
According to him, the accident occurred at about 3.00 p.m. on Friday.
He also confirmed that all eight persons in a Sienna car conveying the family died and the vehicle was broken to retrieve their remains.

He said the Sienna vehicle collided with a stationary truck carrying rods, resulting in the death of the victims.
“Eight died and we have taken them to a morgue.
“We had to break the Sienna vehicle to bring out the dead bodies,” he said.
