    The lingering crisis rocking the Federal College of Education, Technical (FCE,T), Akoka, earlier today, assumed a dangerous dimension as men believed to be operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) Allegedly abducted the Deputy Registrar of the College, Mr Chris Olamiju in the hours of Thursday.

    Though Olamiju has been released and reunited with fellow his workers, a Save Our Soul message received from Concerned Workers of the College, said the operatives reportedly broke into his house at the FCE(T) senior staff quarters within the Akoka campus of the College by gaining access through his apartment kitchen door, assaulted him and members of his family.

    They also fired shots to scare residents of the estate while one of the pellets of the bullets was found in a neighbouring apartment.

    A distress note from the College at about 3 a.m alleged that during the invasion, Olamiju was seriously assaulted, and his personal belongings including documents, files, phones, and laptops were confiscated, causing chaos and fear among residents of the FCE(T) Akoka Senior Staff Quarters.

    The abduction is suspected to be in connection with the five weeklong protest by different unions in the institution over alleged tenure of the Provost, Dr. Ademola Azeez.

    Invasion Shocks Governing Council Members

    The abduction became a surprise to members of new Governing Council recently inaugurates by the Federal Government.

    Recall that following the over five weeks faceoff between the Provost and workers of the College, the Governing Council members led by its Chairman, Dr Adenuga Olatunde are currently holding meetings with members of the College staff unions, management and the Student Union to find a lasting solution to the lingering crisis that jad engulfed the pioneer Technic College since May 27, 2024.

    However, the Provost of the College had insisted that his continues as the Chief Executive officer of the institution.
