    The Federal Government has promoted 20,867 senior officers in the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigeria  Correctional Service (NCoS), Federal Fire Service , and Ngeria Immigration Service

    The promotion was approved by the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB).

    The promotion was announced on Friday by Secretary of the Board, Ja’afaru Ahmed in Abuja.

    He said the exercise marked a pivotal moment for personnel  four secuity snd emergency services.

    “This round of promotions includes officers ranked from inspector to assistant superintendent, controllers, and Assistant Controllers General,” Ahmed announced, following a board meeting that commenced Thursday. The breakdown reveals extensive changes: 5,339 officers in the NCS, 5,112 in the NIS, 489 in the Federal Fire Service, and an impressive 9,937 in the NSCDC,” Ahmed said.

    He added that the board recognised exemplary service by granting special promotions to select officers.

    Ahmed also noted that the board is prioritising career development, stating they will implement robust monitoring and evaluation programmes for training courses. Furthermore, in a commitment to bolster emergency response capabilities, the board aims to complete the 2023/2024 Federal Fire Service recruitment by the end of September.

    Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo also said: “The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), which I chair as the Minister of Interior, held its 5th meeting today, and approved the promotion of over 20,000 officers for 2024.

    “This marks the second consecutive year that the Board has completed a promotion exercise within a calendar year, following the promotion of over 30,000 officers in 2023.

    “This is walking the talk of our promise to eliminate career stagnation in our paramilitary agencies, and demonstrating our dedication to recognizing and rewarding excellence.”
