Fire engulfs seven shops in Lagos

Seven shops were on Saturday engulfed by fire at the market located around the Council Bus Stop in Ikotun area of Lagos.
According to the information shared by the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, the fire resulted from the leakage of a gas cylinder in use at one of the shops, and this led to an explosion. The fire then spread to other shops.
Emergency workers from the Ejigbo and Isolo fire stations of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, officials from the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, the Lagos State Neigbhourhood Safety Corps and operatives of the Nigerian Police Force from the Ikotun Division, were on ground to manage the situation.

The Director, Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Magaret Adeseye said the fire had been put under control.
