The Oyo State Fire Service has confirmed the fire incident that happened along the Ibadan-Ife Expressway on Saturday.
Reports indicate that a petroleum-loaded tanker caught fire on Saturday at Iyana Ajia in Egbeda local government area of Ibadan.
The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon.
The State Fire Service’s General Manager, Yemi Akinyinka, confirmed the incident, mentioning that some individuals sustained minor injuries.

Akinyinka stated, “On September 7, 2024, at approximately 5:45 pm a devastating fire broke out inside a petroleum truck.
“The fire ravaged the pump of the truck, displacing several families and causing significant damage to the property.
“Preliminary investigations suggest that the fire was caused by some residents trying to use the leakage opportunities for their use.
“Damage and Losses: 4 trucks destroyed, 1 petroleum truck, 1 18-passenger bus, 1 small truck, 1 micra.”
