A middle-aged man identified as Khalid Bichi, was reportedly shot dead by unknown gunmen in Maitama, Abuja, on Friday night.
Bichi, believed to be a staff member of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), was said to have been surrendered by his assailants shortly before 9 pm after going to get food.
He was shot multiple times and rushed to the Maitama General Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
According to reports, Bichi, who was active on social media with the handle @Khalid_Bichi, was said to be friends with influential politicians.
The deceased will be laid to rest by 1:30 pm today after a funeral prayer at the Abuja National Mosque.
