The Sokoto State Government has approved N1.1 billion for the procurement of motorised boats and life jackets to improve safety in 22 flood-prone Local Government Areas (LGAs) across the state.
This was announced by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Ibrahim Dade-Adare, following a State Executive Council meeting chaired by Governor Ahmed Aliyu on Wednesday in Sokoto.
Dade-Adare stated that the safety equipment would be distributed to the affected LGAs, except for Dange-Shuni, which was not impacted by the recent floods.
