The chairman Bomadi Local Government Area, Hon Dagidi Andaye said to tackle the perrenial flooding facing Bomadi town, headquarter of the Council was not spare buildings on water channels and bringing to book environmental offenders.
Andaye asserted that bring down buildings obstructing the free flow of water channels and removal of silt from drainages in the metropolis are the solutions to addresing flooding in the town.
The council chairman Andaye who was led by the Head of Environment department in Bomadi Council Mrs Dirime-ere Talbort to the flood prone areas of the town maintained that obstruction and dumping of refused were some of issues that needs to be addressed by the Bomadi council.

Talbort held that with the network of drains from Bomadi library road to Dombraye down to the winner chapel , added that if the drains were opened up flooding in that axis would be addressed she
Andaye speaking with journalists after the assessment the flood prone areas in the town said, the government would take strigent measures to open up the drainages. He vowed that any building or structures blocking the passage of water would not be spared .
” The residents of the town would not continue to suffer because of few individuals who builts and blocked water channels, government must take it course to stop the trend in Bomadi. ” He advised residents to desist from dumping refuses on drainages and stop building on water channels.
He also tasked the Head of Environment department of the council to apply the law and deal with environmental offenders to serve as deterrent to others.
