As part of their intervention in Nigerian boxing, Flykite Productions, organisers of GOtv Boxing Night, have donated a range of training equipment to Capo Boxing Gym, owned by former national welterweight champion, Sunday “Capo” Olalekan.
Among the items donated are high-quality punch pads, gloves, headgear, and a punching bag. They were delivered to the gym at the National Stadium, Lagos, on Thursday.
This follows a recent donation of training kits to the Tipo Boxing Academy in Egbeda, Lagos.

While presenting the equipment, Flykite Productions’ Chief Operating Officer, Bamidele Johnson, emphasized the importance of access to quality training gear for the development of talent.
“Beyond passion, having access to top-quality training equipment is essential for nurturing talent. Since 2014, we’ve been working to accelerate the growth of boxing in Nigeria, and we remain committed to supporting local talents who can eventually compete for world titles and become champions,” Johnson said.
The former champion expressed surprise and gratitude for the donation. “I was informed last night that Flykite would visit my gym. I was really surprised because I did not know what they were bringing was so much. I am happy for this donation to my gym. I used to fight at GOtv Boxing Night and as a former national welterweight champion, I understand the quality of these kits and their value in training upcoming boxers. I’m very happy and I wish Flykite and GOtv more success,” he said.
Flykite Productions has played a major role in promoting boxing in Nigeria, having organized 31 editions of the GOtv Boxing Night and the GOtv Boxing NextGen Search, a platform dedicated to discovering and nurturing emerging talents across the country.
