    LAGOS – Approximately two weeks after Aribibia John Fubara, the Director of the Rivers State Board of Internal Revenue, was kidnapped by armed men at Okrika waterfront in Port Harcourt, his location is still unaccounted for.

    The Rivers State Police Command announced that they have deployed officers from the Tactical teams and Anti-Kidnapping departments to start a search for the abductors.

    Reports indicated that around six gunmen, traveling in a Speedboat, arrived at Okrika Waterfront near Marine Base in Port Harcourt on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at approximately 8:20 pm. They fired shots into the air to create fear among the people in the area.

    After singling out their target, they boldly took the victim onto the boat and sped away to an undisclosed location.

    Limited details revealed the victim, known as Aribibia John Fubara, also a Knight of Saint Christopher in the Anglican Communion.

    Since the abduction, the kidnappers have not reached out to the family. Emmanuel Fubara, the victim’s younger brother, verified the kidnapping and reported it to the Police.

    In an update on the abduction, the spokesperson of the Rivers State Police Command, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, stated: “The command is actively pursuing the release of the victim unharmed. We have initiated a search to apprehend the culprits and hold them accountable,” Iringe-Koko affirmed.
