Fubara’s loyalists sweep Rivers controversial LG election

The Action Peoples Party, a party populated by disgruntled ex-members of the Peoples Democratic Party, has won the chairmanship election in 22 out of the 23 local government areas of the Rivers State whose results have been declared.
APP has recently been the political haven of loyalists of the embattled Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara who has not been able to wrest the control of the PDP in the state from his former godfather and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyseom Wike.
Declaring the results of the election which was held in defiance of a Federal High Court, was the Chief Election Officer of the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission, Justice Adolphus Enebeli.

Enebili,however, noted that the result of the election in Etche Local Government Area had been suspended pending the conclusion on the collation of results for the place.
He also said the results of the election for 319 councillorshi seats were yet to be declared.
