The Ogun State government has said that it established Gateway Aviation Village in Iperu-Remo, Ikenne Local Government Area of the state to complement its huge investment in building the agro cargo airport in the axis.

The 200-housing unit aviation estate the state government added, is also to provide homes in a serene and eco-friendly ambience for people that would have one business or the other to do at the specialized airport.

The Ogun State Commissioner for Housing, Jamiu Akande Omoniyi, made this known while speaking with newsmen in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, shortly after the inspection of the ongoing construction of 35 prototype stand alone duplexes in the Ibara GRA Regeneration Programme.

Omoniyi, who said that the management team of the ministry had earlier inspected level of work at the Gateway Aviation Village, Iperu, Prince Court Estates in Sagamu, Kobape and Ijebu Ode as well as the President Muhammadu Buhari Estate (PMB), noted that the Aviation Village will equally provide affordable homes for the people of Remo and Ijebu.

“Gateway Aviation Village is a peculiar development to complement the state government’s investment in the agro cargo airport. We are building houses for those who readily have one business or the other within the aeropolis. It will also provide a home for the people in that axis who desire to have their homes in a serene and eco-friendly ambience. Though, it is an affordable housing scheme, subscribers will find everything they desire and need in a modern estate. It will be a standard development that will ensure a perfect living”, the Commissioner stated.

While expressing his satisfaction at the quality of work being carried out in the estates under construction, Omoniyi explained that no fewer than 785 affordable housing units and duplexes are expected to be delivered at Iperu, Sagamu, Kobape, PMB Estate and Ibara GRA.

“We have been to Gateway Aviation Village, Iperu, Kobape Housing Scheme, President Muhammadu Buhari Estate and now at Ibara GRA Regeneration scheme, I want to say that I am satisfied with the level of work. We are happy that as a government, we are giving back to the subscribers, value for their money, in terms of affordable housing, which the present government of Governor Dapo Abiodun has placed premium on, since 2019.

“Altogether, we are doing 200 housing units in Iperu, 200 units in Sagamu, Kobape is about 235 units, PMB is 115 stand alone duplexes and Ibara has 35 stand alone duplexes.

“By this time next year, the state government will be inaugurating housing units in four different estates in Iperu, Sagamu, PMB and Ibara. At these locations, the building works are about 75% completion. All things being equal, applicants for the Gateway Aviation Village should have their houses ready in or before December this year. Those of Ibara should also have their own around that time. At the PMB Estate, the duplexes are readily available, infrastructure works are ongoing there Within two months after subscribing, the subscribers should have the houses allocated to them”, Omoniyi stated.

He, however, disclosed that the 235 housing units under construction at the Phase Three of Kobape Housing Scheme, would be for allocation by the first quarter of 2025.
