    LAGOS – Ademola Adeleke, the Governor of Osun State, restates his dedication to abide by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) constitution amidst the current leadership turmoil in the party.

    In a statement from his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, Governor Adeleke stressed that his position is based on the values of the party’s constitution, not tied to any specific faction.

    “As a governor, I wholeheartedly back the resolution of the PDP Governors’ Forum on this issue,” Adeleke affirmed. “I uphold the party’s constitution, which precisely delineates the procedure for succession in case of a chairman’s departure.”

    The Governor emphasized the vital need for upholding the constitution, stating, “It is crucial for our party to remain dedicated to its constitution, particularly during this pivotal moment. This is key to nurturing a responsible and transparent political entity.”

    In his detailed statement, he articulated, “Yesterday, I clarified my stance on the ongoing leadership turmoil within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). I reiterated my allegiance to our esteemed party’s Constitution, which clearly defines the succession process in case of a chairman’s departure. 

    I also wholeheartedly endorse the resolution of the PDP Governors’ Forum, of which I am a crucial member.”

    During this crucial period, our party must uphold its Constitution consistently. This is essential for establishing a responsible and long-lasting political party.”
