Commissioner of Police, Plateau State, Emmanuel Olugbemiga Adesina, recently visited Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, pledging to secure lives and properties of the citizens: “Plateau State security architecture is a familiar terrain. Under my watch, it will be properly secured and protected as statutory demands.
“People should imbibe community policing to fight crime in our environs. I have come to intimate the governor on some of our operation strategies adopted since my assumption of duty, including visitation of flashpoints and troubled areas as well as deployment of adequate personnel to those areas to enhance security situation. The command is also collaborating with other security agencies and critical stakeholders as part of its community policing initiatives.
“The command arrested 15 suspected terrorists in Bangalala forest in Wala Local Government, the border with Bauchi and Taraba states. Seven terrorists was neutralised during encounter. In another operation in Zurak and Dakai villages, we neutralised some terrorists who killed nine persons and burnt down houses.
“Police operatives with the Joint Task Force with other security agencies restored normalcy in the Jos Terminus Market area. The situation is now under control.”
Mutfwang recognised role being played by the police. He pledged his full support to the command in its efforts to maintain peace and ensure security. He expressed hope that his government would continue to count on the police professionalism “in ensuring that laws which are meant for the good of the citizens are properly obeyed.
“Government will begin immediate rehabilitation of all police vehicles which are not operational. More vehicles will be provided to the command.”
