A social political group “Equity For Justice” has called on Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to disqualify the Labour Party governorship candidate Olumide Osaigbovo Akpata for openly disrespecting the existing law of the land by still sticking with Yusuf Kadiri, SAN against a female, Oluyinka Faith Alufohai that is lawfully accepted by the dictate of the constitution backed by the national leadership of the party.

In a communique issued after an enlarged meeting and signed by the president Osamir Andrew and General secretary Osayuwa Kensington emphasised the need for the party national leadership to call the gubernatorial candidate to order before he destroys the party and reduce the chances of the party winning in the forthcoming governorship election.

They said INEC on their portal on Tuesday morning still parades the female candidate Mrs Oluyinka as the running mate and yet Olumide is fronting Yusuf Kadiri SAN for same position, a situation that was viewed by the group as unhealthy for the party’s chances.

The leadership of “Equity For Justice” however called on the national leadership of the party and the former Presidential Candidate Peter Obi to call the gubernatorial candidate to order because his adamant action is confirming claims in some quarters that he could likely have been planted in the party to destroy it before the election and also criminal according to the electoral law.

The chairman and secretary of the group backed up their claims with the submission of what transpired in the primary when it was to be zoned to Edo Central despite that Olumide hijacked the process.

They concluded that same is now been repeated with him going against the choice of the party as running mate parading another person even when the issue is still been contested in a court of competent jurisdiction in what the group viewed as inimical to the dictates of the party.
