A coalition of interest groups under the umbrella of the Nigeria for Peace Project (N4P) has paid a courtesy visit to Media Trust Group in an effort to enhance media engagement to promote peaceful coexistence in the country.

Leading the delegation, the convener of N4P, Ambassador Ibrahim Waiya, said that the movement was a collection of like-minded organisations and individuals. He said, “The N4P project is an independent intervention project conceived and birthed by some like-minded civil society practitioners through the coordination of Citizens for Development and Education (CDE), Northern Youth Assembly (NYA) and Centre for Peace and Environmental Justice (CEPEJ), as well as other patriotic individuals from and across the country, who believe and promote the oneness, unity, peace and security of the Nigerian state.”

He further said that the project was to assist in restoring the confidence of Nigerian citizens, build bridges to close gaps of mistrust and blame game, as well as to promote reconciliation.

Waiya thanked the management of Media Trust Group for the warm reception and said they were looking forward to more collaborations.

Receiving the delegation, the Weekend Editor of the group, Stella Iyaji; Opinion Editor, Yusuf Zango; Investigation Editor, Lami Sadiq, and Head of Documentary, Amina Yuguda, expressed readiness for collaboration, especially amid the security and political instability in the country.
