A bounty of N1 million has been placed on Onuigwe Nwodi suspected to be a cult leader involved in killing of policemen, kidnapping and armed robbery along Emohua axis of the East-West road.

Chairman of Emohua Local Government area, Dr. Chidi Lloyd, besides placing a bounty on him, also declared Nwodi wanted dead or alive.

There have been rising cases of killings, including a policeman, kidnappings and armed robberies along Emohua section Of East-West road.

From investigations, Nwodi, 22, is a regular detainee at Port Harcourt Correctional Centre.

He hails from Elibrada in Emohua Local Government Area and a kingpin of Iceland Cult group and “SS ‘Soldier” who is aspiring to be a “General” in the group.

Meanwhile, few minutes after the Council Chairman declared Nwodi wanted on radio, there was heavy gun battle between gunmen suspected to be cultists at Emohua LGA, and security forces comprising NSCDC and the army.

At the time filing this report, the suspected cultists launched serious attack on the crude oil manifold and the attack was ongoing.

It was not clear if the alleged attack on the crude oil manifold was connected with the declaration of Nwodi wanted by the Council Chairman or a fight for territorial controls of bunkering sites.
