Six pupils of Local Government Education Authority (LGEA) Primary School Alwaza, in Doma Local Government Area of Nasarawa State were abducted on their way to school on Friday.
The pupils aged between seven and eight years were abducted at about 7: a.m, Nasarawa Police Command spokesperson, DSP Ramhan Nansel, told journalists.
Nansel said that the police had met with the management of the school and the parents of the victims.
He added that a joint security team comprising police, military and vigilante operatives had been mobilised to the area for search and rescue operation.
“We are on the trail of the abductors and the Commissioner of Police Maiyaki Muhammed-Baba, has also visited the scene for on-the-spot assessment,” he said.
He, therefore, called on the public to avail the police with any information that could lead to the rescue of the victims and arrest of the perpetrators.
