Erling Haaland delivered a commanding performance, scoring twice to secure a 2-1 victory for Manchester City over Brentford at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.

The win ensures City maintains its position at the top of the Premier League table.

The match got off to a dramatic start with Brentford taking an early lead. In the 1st minute, Yoane Wissa pounced on a rebound inside the six-yard box and headed the ball past Manchester City’s goalkeeper, Ederson, to put Brentford ahead 1-0.

City soon responded, with Nathan Michael Collins almost doubling Brentford’s lead. A corner kick led to Collins heading the ball towards the bottom left corner, but Ederson made a crucial save to keep City in the game.

The equaliser came in the 20th minute through Haaland, who showcased his finishing prowess. Kevin De Bruyne, well-positioned in the box, passed to Haaland, who calmly blasted the ball inside the left post to level the score at 1-1.

City took control in the 32nd minute when Haaland struck again. A precise pass from Ederson found Haaland on the edge of the area.
