NNEWI – Hoodlums believed to be armed robbers on Wednesday evening allegedly stormed a petrol filling station in Nnobi near Nnewi in Anambra State and made away with money worth millions of naira.
Sources said the robbers allegedly stormed the Seaman Liquid Petrol Station located along Nnobi-Nnewi Road, Nnobi at about 7 p.m. Wednesday evening and ordered the petrol attendants to fill their car tank with petrol (pms) worth about N30,000.
It was gathered that the robbers who arrived the place on a highlander jeep whose plate number was not known, after making sure that the car tank had been filled refused to pay for the product.

It was said that when the unidentified robbers where asked to pay for the petrol, one of them passed the word saying, “ ka ha fu ya”, meaning “Let them see it.”
According to sources, when the attendant insisted that the robbers should pay for the petroleum product, their leader alighted from the jeep and ordered everybody within the premises to surrender their cash and handsets to them before they began shooting sporadically into the air and later drove away with their loot.
Sources at the filling station confirmed the incident Thursday afternoon saying that no casualties were recorded.
