The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Ahmed Usman Ododo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) winner of Saturday’s governorship election in Kogi State.

According to the result announced by the returning officer, Ododo polled 446, 237 votes to defeat his closest rival Murtala Ajaka of the Social Democratic Party, who got 259,052 votes.
Dino Melaye of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) came third, polling 46,362, while Leke Abejide of the African Democratic Party (ADC) was fourth with 21,819 votes.
Kogi governorship poll
The election in 59 polling units next Saturday, will be superfluous as the margin of victory exceeds the votes expected to be cast.
