Ikeja Electric Plc (IE), an electricity distribution company (DisCo), has announced that it will reduce the cost of electricity tariffs on Band A feeders.
The management disclosed this in a statement on Monday, saying that the downward tariff will be effective on Monday, May 6, 2024.
Ikeja Electric spokesperson said the implementation of the downward review of electricity tariffs complies with an order by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC).

It stated that Band A feeders from N225/kwh to N206.80/kwh with guaranteed availability of 20-24hrs supply daily.
The electricity company added that the tariff for Bands B, C, D, and E remains unchanged.

“The tariff for Bands B, C, D and E remains unchanged.”

This development comes after the NERC approved an increase in the electricity tariff for customers under the Band A classification in April.
The Vice Chairman, NERC, Musliu Oseni, said the increase will see customers paying N225 kilowatt per hour from the current N66.

Oseni said customers in Band A represent a 15 per cent of the 12 million electricity customers in the country.
