The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced an extension of the voting duration in the ongoing Edo State governorship poll.
This is expectedly on response to the demand made by notable stakeholders in the election, such as Philip Shaibu who, though thumbed up the patience of the electorate and the eventual seamless conduct of the election by INEC, noted the late kick-off of the process and thereby, asked that the voting time be extended by as many hours as it took to start behind schedule.

Voting may now last for some two extra hours to ensure that all registered voters present and verified at their respective voting units are given the chance to exercise their franchise rights.
