Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has visited Oporoza, traditional Headquarters of Gbaramatu Kingdom in Warri South-West Local Government Area to commence fresh delineation process of electoral wards and polling units in Warri Federal Constituency.
It could be recalled that INEC has made a move to implement the ruling of the Supreme Court, ordering the electoral umpire to reassign wards and polling units across Warri South, Warri North and Warri South West Local Government Areas, the three local government areas in Warri Federal Constituency.
Addressing INEC officials in his Palace, HRM Oboro-Gbaraun II, Aketekpe, Agadagba, Pere of Gbaramatu Kingdom called on the team to discharge their duties responsibly, diligently and work according to the Constitution.

Accordng to HRM Oboro-Gbaraun 11, “I have given you the go-ahead. You can go and do your work accordingly and perfectly as it is supposed to be”.

Responding, Ibrahim Ahmed, Special Data Analyst, INEC National Headquarters who led the delegation said, “we assure you that we are going to do this work diligently and according to the Constitution, following the guidelines.”
In an interview, Buhari Ibrahim of the Electoral Operations Department, INEC Headquarters said that they will co-ordinate every locality and demarcate the boundaries just as it is expected to be done, then “we would decide on wards and polling units after this stage.”
Ibrahim added, it’s all about identification and demarcation of the communities. It’s going to be credible based on findings and according to the Electoral Act and the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“We will identify the localities and demarcate them, then we’re going to take the co-ordinate of each and every locality and demarcate the boundaries. After that, the Commission will decide on the next stage.”
