Moves to foster inclusive dialogue among electorates has prompted the Peering Advocacy and Advancement Centre in Africa (PAACA) with support from the MacArthur Foundation to unveil a radio programme, which will be discussing on electoral reforms.
The programme is tagged: Electoral Reform Hour which will air in Kapital FM 92.9 Abuja, and all FRCN stations nationwide.
According to facilitators of the programme, the maiden edition of the radio program will be aired on the 9th of June 2024 featuring Professor Mahmood Yakubu, Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) as a guest.
Ezenwa Nwagwu, Executive Director, PAACA said #ElectoralReformHour is aimed at fostering a culture of inclusive dialogue among citizens from various background concerning electoral reform and constitutional amendment.
He said it would enhance public understanding and awareness regarding electoral reform, compile and present citizen-derived recommendations ahead of future elections in Nigeria.
He disclosed that #ElectoralReformHour will air every Sunday from 7:30pm to 8:30pm on Kapital FM 92.9 Abuja, and all FRCN stations nationwide.
“It will feature stakeholders from the Election Management bodies, State and National Assembly, Civil society, Nigeria Bar Association, Nigeria Political Science Association and many others.
“The program’s wide reach will ensure that citizens across Nigeria will have access to crucial information about the ongoing electoral reform in the country. Listeners are encouraged to call in, share their experiences, and ask questions during the program,” the PAACA Executive Director stated.
