    Governors of the five South-East state states and some stakeholders including the Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Alfred Achebe are meeting at Government House, Enugu over the security situation in the region.

    The crucial meeting is being attended by all the South-East governors physically.

    The governors are Alex Otti of Abia, Hope Uzodimma of Imo, Charles Soludo of Anambra, Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi States the host governor, Mr Peter Mbah.

    The reason for the meeting is not disclosed to the press but it might not be unconnected to insecurity in the zone and the continued detention of the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu’s issue as well as the state of the zone.

    The security situation in the region has worsened in the past few weeks with attacks and killing of security operatives by gunmen believed to be aligned to IPOB and its armed wing, ESN.
