Global smartphone brand Itel has introduced its latest product, the Itel S24, to students at the University of Uyo (Uniuyo) in Akwa Ibom State. The event, held in partnership with Google Android, MTN, and Imagine Cinema, aimed to create awareness about the device and its features.
The “Shoot and Chill” event featured a one-day lecture on professional photography, allowing students to participate in competitions and win prizes like power banks, smartphones, ear pods, and other accessories.
“We are here at the University of Uyo for the Itel Shoot and Chill, a promotional campus movement for our new phone, the Itel S24,” said Mr. Oke Umurhohowo, Marketing Manager for Itel West Africa. “We launched the S24 in April and are visiting various university campuses in Nigeria to promote it.”
He highlighted the phone’s affordability and reliability, emphasizing its 180-megapixel camera, one of the highest in Nigeria. The lecture provided students with valuable photography tips and techniques from industry experts.
“The Itel S24 has 252 gigabytes of internal memory, addressing students’ concerns about storage space,” Umurhohowo added. “The 5,000mAh battery ensures long-lasting power, even with frequent use.”
He emphasized the brand’s commitment to social responsibility, citing initiatives like donating uniforms, libraries, and phones to schools and communities across the country.
Miracle Udo, a participating student, expressed gratitude for the free photography lecture and the affordable smartphone. “The lecture will equip us with skills to earn income while still in school,” she said. “It’s a valuable corporate social responsibility initiative.”
