The Jigawa State Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Argemeering Services Limited to establish three liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) bottling plants in the state.

The signing ceremony took place at the Government House in Dutse yesterday.

Speaking at the event, Governor Umar Namadi emphasised the strategic importance of the initiative. He explained that it would lead to the establishment of an LPG bottling plant in each of the state’s three senatorial districts.

“The establishment of these LPG plants will generate employment and help protect our environment by reducing the use of firewood. With the signing of this MOU, we are signing for the employment of our youth, and we are also signing a commitment to protect our environment,” he said.

He added, “These two objectives are very important and are integral to our 12-point agenda blueprint. I want to assure you that this partnership will be mutually beneficial.”

In his remarks, the Chief Executive Officer of Argemeering Services Limited, Bashir Mukhtar, pledged his company’s commitment to fulfilling the terms of the partnership.

He urged the state government to uphold its end of the agreement and committed to training 1,000 youths annually as part of the MOU.
