Fásípè claimed that the officers, armed and in uniform, had kidnapped the NYSC members and taken them to the Kafaru Oluwole Tinubu House at Area C Police Command, Surulere, where they were coerced into paying the hefty sum.
“Their offence was simply being in the wrong place at the wrong time,” Fásípè added in his initial post, which sparked widespread outrage on social media.
As the trial begins, the Lagos State Police Command has vowed to ensure justice and called on the victims to provide necessary evidence and statements to aid the investigation.
