The Kano State Agro-Pastoral Development Project (KSADP), in collaboration with the Sasakawa Africa Association (SAA), has provided farmers in the state with 12 combined harvesters, 10 Hijet vehicles, sprayers, solar-powered pumps, welding and fabrication kits, and other essential farm tools to boost agricultural productivity.

The items were handed over to the farmers during a high-level workshop organized by SAA in collaboration with the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) and the Kano State Government.

In his remark, Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, represented by his deputy, Comrade Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo, urged beneficiaries to make good use of the equipment distributed to them to maximize the impact on the agricultural sector.

“I congratulate the recipients and encourage them to utilize these tools effectively to benefit themselves and the community,” he said.

The SAA Country Director, Dr Godwin Atser, explained that the initiative was facilitated by the SAA through funding from the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), Lives and Livelihoods Fund (LLF).

On his part, the chairman of the occasion and former Nigerian President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, represented by Mr Vitalis Otese, commended the partnership while describing the project as a successful model of cooperation that could be replicated in other states, particularly in northern Nigeria.
