The Kano State Hisbah Board has declared Auwal Sankara, the Commissioner for Special Duties in Jigawa, wanted over allegations of adultery.
The Commander General of the board, Aminu Daurawa, revealed this during a press briefing in Kano on Monday, stating that Sankara was allegedly caught in an unfinished building with a married woman, following intelligence reports.
Daurawa explained that the accusations against Sankara came from the woman’s husband, Nasiru Bulama, who had filed multiple complaints, accusing the commissioner of engaging in an illicit relationship with his wife, Tasleem Nabegu, the mother of their two children.

“We attempted to resolve the issue amicably by inviting both families. However, only the husband attended, while the commissioner refused to respond and later fled after being granted bail by Hisbah,” Daurawa said, adding that the case had since been taken to court.
He also encouraged the public to report any inappropriate activities they observe within their communities.
The woman’s husband has called on the State Government and relevant authorities to intervene and ensure justice is served, stressing that it is a serious offence for a married individual to engage in extramarital affairs.
