Kano textile market gutted by fire

Published By: Paul Dada By Maduabuchi Nmeribeh/Kano  Goods worth billions of naira  perished in the fire that raged at the Kantiin Kwari International Textile Market, Kano. Alhaji Balarabe Tatari, Chairman of Kano Traders, on Sunday, confirmed   that the inferno started around 7 p.m on  Saturday, at Gidan Inuwa Mai Mai on Bayajidda Street and rapidly spread to multiple buildings within the market. He, however, commended  the Federal Fire Service, Kano State Fire Service, and private companies, along with support from Sabon Gari, Dawanau, and Singa Market management, for their response to the fire. “The prompt intervention of the Kano State Fire Service, the Federal Fire Service, and reinforcements from private companies, Sabon Gari, Dawanau, and Singa Markets put out the fire,” he said. . He also praised  the personnel from the Department of State Services (DSS), Nigeria Police Force, and other  security agencies who helped to put the situation under control.
