Katsina governor Radda reshuffles cabinet, composes boards of parastatals

Katsina governor Dikko Umaru Radda of Friday effected a minor reshuffle of his cabinet while he also composed various boards of parastatals with new appointees.
A statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed indicated that the action was, “strategic reorganization aims to optimize the performance of the state government and ensure the effective delivery of services to the people of Katsina State.’
According to the Statement : Dr. Bashir Gambo Saulawa was moved from the Ministry of Health to the Ministry of Water Resources; Hajiya Hadiza Yar’Adua transfered from the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education to the Ministry of Women Affairs; Hajiya Zainab M. Musawa shifted from the Ministry of Women Affairs to the Ministry of Education.
Hon. Hamza Suleiman Faskari moved from the Ministry of Water Resources to the Ministry of Environment; Alhaji Isa Muhammad Musa transferred from the Ministry of Special Duties to the Ministry of Higher, Technical and Vocational Education; Alhaji Yusuf Rabiu Jirdede shifted from the Ministry of Rural and Social Development to the Ministry of Special Duties.
Prof. Abdulhamid Ahmed Mani moved from the Ministry of Higher, Technical and Vocational Education to the Ministry of Rural and Social Development; Hon. Musa Adams Funtua transfered from the Ministry of Environment to the Ministry of Health.
Hence, Radda directed that all affected commissioners should hand over their current responsibilities to the Permanent Secretaries of their respective ministries with immediate effect.
They are to assume their new roles without delay to ensure continuity in government operations.
However, those who retained their portfolio are: Prof. Ahmed Mohammed Bakeri, Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development; Hon. Ishaq Shehu Daba I, Ministry of Religious Affairs; Prof. Badamasi Lawan, Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Dr. Nasir Mu’azu Dan Musa, Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs; Mallam Balla M. Salisu Zago, Ministry of Information and Culture; Hon. Aliyu Lawal Zakaria, Youth and Sports Development; Hon. Bishir Tanimu Gambo, Ministry of Finance; Barr. Fadila Muhammed Dikko, Justice and Attorney General, Dani Magaji, Works, Housing and Transport; Dr. Faisal Umar Kaita, Ministry of Lands and Physical Planning; Alhaji Bello Hussaini Kagara, Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning; Alhaji Adnan Nahabu, Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Investment.
Governor Radda expressed confidence that the reorganization will bring fresh perspectives and renewed energy to the affected ministries.
He reiterated his commitment to transparent, effective, and responsive governance, “I call on all stakeholders to support these changes as we work together for the progress and development of our dear state,” Governor Radda added.
However, Governor Radda also announced the composition of parastatals and boards, as he charged appointees to bring fresh Ideas for the overall development of the state.
The Statement stated that, “the boards are composed of experienced professionals from diverse backgrounds, who have been carefully selected based on their competence, experience and commitment to public service.
” The Katsina Governor, Malam Radda expressed hope that the new board members will bring fresh ideas and perspectives to the parastatals and help to achieve the state development goals.”
The composition of the boards are as follows: Water Board which include Alhaji Bashir Isah Kankara – Chairman; Alhaji Lawal Abdu Maigari; Alhaji Ya’u Dodo Rogogo ; Hajiya Maryam Umar Matazu.

Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (RUWASSA) which include Alhaji Murtala Lamama – Chairman; Alhaji Badamasi Halliru; Hon. Muntari Mu’azu; Hon. Hussaini Turaki Kabomo.
Health Services Management Board (HSMB) which include Alhaji Haliru Lawal – Chairman; Hon. Yahaya Abdullahi Karawa;Alhaji Hassan Magaji.

The Institute of Technology and Management (KSITM) with a chairman and three members; Exploration and Mining Company (KEMCO) with a chairman and four members; Road Maintenance Management Agency (KASROMA) with a Chairman and three members (one from each senatorial zone); Drugs and Medical Supply Agency (DMSA) with a chairman and three members, (one of whom must be women)
The Irrigation Authority with Chairman and nine members; State Safety and Road Traffic Authority (KASSAROTA) with a Chairman and one Traffic/Transport Consultant.
Governor Radda urged the new board members to work diligently and in the best interests of the state.
He also charged them to ensure that the parastatals they oversee are transparent, accountable, and efficient.
