Katsina government has concluded plans to enter into partnership with You-vs-You London, for the establishment and inauguration of a Football Academy in the state.
A statement by Mohammed Ibrahim Kaula, Chief Press Secretary to Governor Umaru Dikko Radda indicated that, “the initiative aims to provide unparalleled opportunities for burgeoning football talents in our community.”
The statement added that, “the Katsina Football Academy will serve as a nurturing hub for emerging talents, dedicated to refining the skills of aspiring footballers who dream of a professional career.
‘This collaboration stems from a shared commitment to fostering sports excellence and nurturing personal growth among the youth.
“Recruitment for the Katsina Football Academy is set to commence this August with an enthralling football tournament.
“This dynamic event invites skilled players from across the state to showcase their abilities and potentially secure a coveted spot within the academy.
“Following the tournament, a comprehensive scouting programme will be launched in partnership with esteemed European clubs.
“This programme aims to attract scouts who will journey to Katsina to identify and select promising players, providing pathways to international football prospects.
“The presence of these scouts will not only provide local talents with global recognition but also offer avenues to excel in the realm of football.
“In steadfast dedication to the success of the initiative, the Katsina Football Academy will collaborate closely with the Nigeria police and drug law enforcement agencies.
“This partnership aims to bridge gaps within our communities and raise awareness about the importance of living a drug-free and wholesome lifestyle. By instilling these values and offering alternative avenues through sports, it aims to positively influence the lives of our youth and foster a more harmonious Katsina State.”
