A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Katsina State led by Senator Yakubu Lado has sworn in its newly elected chairman, Alhaji Nura Amadi Kurfi, alongside other officials.
The ceremony took place at the PDP secretariat in Katsina, following the state congress.
Alhaji Kurfi praised the national PDP leadership and Senator Lado for leading the party to victory in the 2023 general elections.
He outlined his focus areas to include unity, law and order, internal democracy, and a level playing field for the 2027 elections.
This development comes amid controversy, as another faction led by Mustapha Inuwa had sought legal redress over alleged exclusion of members in the congresses.
However, the Lado-led faction conducted congresses from ward to state level.
