KATSINA: No fewer than thirty-six deceased police officers families and next-of-kin have benefitted from the over N27 million insurance scheme in Katsina state.
The intervention was disbursed to the families and next of kins of the departed police officers under the Group Life Insurance, Group Personal Accident, and Inspector General of Police Family Welfare Insurance Schemes.
ASP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, the state Police Public Relations Officer disclosed this in a statement made available to newsmen in Katsina on Friday.
In his remarks, the Police Commissioner, CP Aliyu Abubakar Musa, appreciated the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun for his magnanimity towards the families of the deceased police officers who paid the supreme price while in active service to the nation.

He called on the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the money given to them to meet the objective of the scheme meant to provide succour to the families left behind by the officers.
He prayed for the repose of the departed souls of the deceased officers for Allah to grant them Aljanna Firdausi.
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Najib Ibrahim, thanked the Inspector General of Police for the gesture, promising to make good use of the money for the betterment of their lives.
He also prayed for God’s guidance over the leadership of the command and the Force in general.
