The board of Kebbi Beach Soccer Association (KBSA) has lauded the State Governor,Dr. Nasir Idris for supporting the association to grow and development of the game.
The association,in a statement issued by its Chairman and National Coordinator of NBSL,Mahmud Hedeija, congratulated the Governor as he celebrate his one year in office.
According to him, “,the board of Kebbi Beach Soccer Association (KBSA) wishes to congratulate the Executive Governor of Kebbi State, His Excellency Dr Nasir Idris on his first anniversary in charge of the State.
“The Association appreciates your support towards the growth and development of Beach Soccer in the State.
“Within your first year in office, two teams from the State, Kebbi Fishers and Kebbi United Beach Soccer Clubs (BSC) participated in the Nigeria Beach Soccer League (NBSL) 2023 and 2024 edition.
“Kebbi Fishers won the National Championship (NBSL) at the end of the 2023 season while Kebbi United won the recently concluded 2023/2024 Kebbi State Beach Soccer League (KBSL). Both teams have qualified for the Finals of the 2024 edition of NBSL in Kaduna next July.
“We also seize this opportunity to appreciate your support during Kebbi Fishers’ trip to Alghero, Italy in 2023 for the World Winners Clup Cup organised by Beach Soccer Worldwide under FIFA.
“The team’s feat of reaching the Round of 16 of the 2023 World Winners Championship in Italy which solidified their position as the top-ranked Beach Soccer team in Africa for the fourth year and among the best 16 teams globally can’t be achieved without the support of the Kebbi State Government under your leadership.
“As we continue to widen the scope and sequence of development of Beach Soccer in the State, we believe that Kebbi State will continue to grow in leaps and bounds under your watch Insha Allah”, he said.
While congratulate the Governor on his one year in office, the association noted that,his achievements which are enormous, cover many sectors not only in the sporting sector but transcends to other spheres of life.
“For us at the Kebbi Beach Soccer Association, we assure you of our commitment to work hand in hand with your Government in a bid to make Beach Soccer a solace and source of youth empowerment which will take them out of the streets and engage them in fruitful ventures.
“As you continue to steer the ship of our great State, we pray God will give you divine protection and guidance to take the State to the next level”.
