    Birnin Kebbi: Wife of Kebbi state governor, Hajia Zainab Nasare Idris, on Tuesday joined her counter parts in Nigeria to mark the 64th independence day celebration in Kebbi state.

    The symbolic independence galore which was held at the presidential lodge in Birnin Kebbi was attended by different women groups adorned with Nigerian flags amid fanfare signafying the return to democratic governance in the country after years of military incursion on the political space.

    In her speech, the representative of Kebbi first lady, who is the wife of the deputy governor, Hajia Maryam Umar Tafida said that Nigerians across the country are today celebrating the return to democracy which she said brought even developments in all spheres of human endeavours and has strengthened our unity as a nation with different tribes, religion and cultural background ” let me use this occasion to congratulate Nigeria’s lady Senator Remi Tinubu for her support to women across the country particularly the women of Kebbi who through the Strong leadership of Zainab Idris our women became direct beneficiaries of mister president ‘s wife impactful policies “.

    She explained that, Kebbi first lady is in tune with what Senator Remi Tinubu is doing to propel local economy through the empowerment of women who are the bedrock of our society hence the reason to empower them saying Nasara foundation under which all the humanitarian programmes are being run have positively impacted women and children in the state.

    Mrs Idris urged Nigerians to pray for peace and Unity of the country she also appealed to people of Kebbi state to pray for her husband and president Tinubu to succeed.

    The occasion featured dramas and cultural dances and was attended by Commissioners and top political echelons in the state.
