Aliyu Salisu, a 19-year-old kidnapper, was arrested by officers of the Nigeria Police Force while collecting ransom from a victim’s parents.
Salisu and his team members, Abdulrazak Ibrahim and Mohammed Ibrahim, who are also 19, had kidnaped a six-year-old girl Fatima Abubakar, from Bachirawa quarters, Kano state on Jan. 6.
They whisked the girl to Katsina and demanded N2 million ransom from her parents.
The Katsina State Police Command, after receiving intelligence on the kidnap, swung into action and arrested Salisu in the process of receiving the ransom.
Salisu’s arrest led to the arrest of other members of the syndicate.
Confirming the incident, the Public Relations Officer of Kasina police command said the suspects would be charged in court after investigations are completed.
