The Senator representing Kogi West in the National Assembly, Sunday Steve Karimi, yesterday, raised a committee for implementation of a yearly bursary award for students in public tertiary institutions across his constituency.
Under the scheme, each undergraduate would receive N100,000. This will ensure that not less than 1,000 Kogi West students are among the beneficiaries. The initiative is solely financed by the senator.
A release by his media team, noted: “Members of the committee for implementation of the bursary award are people with proven integrity, very accountable, seasoned administrators, educationists and technocrats that were deliberately chosen to serve in the committee.
This will allow the committee to come up with fair and transparent modalities through which prospective beneficiaries would emerge without bias and any sentiment whatsoever.”
