    LAGOS – As part of extensive efforts and widespread consultations initiat­ed by the Ekiti State Government to reduce the spate of environ­mental nuisances in the State, the Ekiti State Commissioner for Environment, Chief (Mrs.) Tosin Aluko-Ajisafe and her delegation embarked on a working visit to the LAGESC Command Headquarters, Bolade-Oshodi.

    Receiving the guests, the Corps Marshal, Major Olatubosun Cole (retd) emphasised on the signifi­cance of the visit as she stated that it would create a springboard of engagement and extensive deliber­ations for inter-state environmental partnership and exchange of work­able templates for progress between the two States.

    Chief (Mrs.) Tosin Aluko-Ajis­afe the Ekiti State Commissioner for Environment, in her speech, ex­pressed gratitude to the Lagos State Government, Corps Marshal for the continued synergy and warm recep­tion, adding that the interactive ses­sion will further create a workable synergy between Lagos and Ekiti to share data on environmental en­forcement techniques, recruitment parameters, revision of existing laws and continuous engagement of stakeholders. She also appreciated the administration of Mr. Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu for mantaining a cleaner and habitable Lagos which remains visible to all.

    Mr. Babatunde Alokan, Perma­nent Secretary, Ekiti State Minis­try of Environment, expressed the readiness of the Ekiti State Government to gather actionable intelligence within and outside the State as part of concerted efforts to rid the State of environmental nuisances.

    The interactive session afforded the visitors a platform for valuable exchange of ideas through discus­sions and recommendations on best practises of environmental enforcement.

    The visiting delegation from Ekiti State also included Engnr. Olalusi Ayo, General Manager, Ekiti State Waste Management Author­ity (EKSIWAMA), Dr. Akinyemi Akinyugha, Project Cordinator, NEWMAP, Engnr. Olajide Olu­wadare, Representative, Ekiti State Environmental Protection Agency (EkSEPA), Mr. Tunde Balogun, Director, Environmental Health, Sanitation and Mr. Ayodele Aluko, Environmental Safeguards Officer, NEWMAP.
