The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has scheduled a one-hour power shutdown at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport for Wednesday, June 5.

According to Mrs. Obiageli Orah, Director of Public Affairs/Consumer Protection, the shutdown, aimed at maintenance purposes, will take place between 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. specifically at the International Terminal 2 (ITZ-2) in Lagos.

The decision to conduct this shutdown stems from the pressing need to address issues affecting the Bus Riser 11K VA high tension (HT) panel on the ground floor, North of the International Terminal 2 (ITZ-2) at the Murtala Muhammed Airport.

FAAN assures that the power supply shutdown will be carried out with minimal disruption to flight operations and passenger services.

During this maintenance period, affected airlines – Rwanda Air (WB), EgyptAir (MS), and Qatar Air (QR) – will be relocated for check-in and arrival formalities to the International Terminal 1 (ITZ-1). Passengers scheduled to travel with these airlines are advised to take note of the change.

FAAN apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause to stakeholders and the traveling public, reaffirming its commitment to maintaining world-class safety standards and service excellence for all airport users.
