The Lagos State Government has arrested five individuals, including a musician, for obstructing traffic during a birthday celebration over the weekend.
Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, disclosed this on Monday via a post on X, stating that the incident took place on Saturday, 19th October.
Those arrested include Omolara Ajetumobi, the event planner; Ogundare Olubunmi, the celebrant; Ayodele Busuyi, the musician; Owoeye Adedayo, the sound engineer; and Akinola Akinkunmi, a vendor.

Wahab revealed that they were apprehended for blocking Raymond Njoku Road in Southwest Ikoyi and causing an environmental disturbance.
“The suspects were arrested for blocking Raymond Njoku Road in Southwest Ikoyi during a birthday celebration. They will be tried in court in accordance with the laws of the State,” Wahab stated.
He further reiterated the government’s stance on law enforcement, saying, “The Lagos State Government reiterates that no one is above the law and will not be permitted to disregard State regulations.”
