The Lagos State Government has impounded 241 unlicensed vehicles during an enforcement operation by the Vehicle Inspection Service (VIS), in line with Sections 15 and 16 of the Lagos State Transport Sector Reform Law (TSRL) 2018.
Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, warned motorists against driving unregistered vehicles, stressing that it hampered law enforcement efforts, especially in tracking stolen vehicles or those linked to criminal activities.

Citing Section 16 of the TSRL, Osiyemi highlighted that driving without proper registration or valid identification marks is a legal offence.
He also revealed that a fake dealer number plate was found on one of the impounded vehicles, and investigations are underway to bring those responsible to justice.
The Commissioner urged motorists to comply with traffic regulations, assuring that adherence would help the government maintain a safe and secure road environment for all users.
