The Lagos State Government has issued fresh update on the closure of Third Mainland Bridge for repair.
The government, in a statement issued by the Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, on Friday said based on observations on the on-going diversion on the Third Mainland Bridge, the government has adjusted the Island (Adeniji Adele bound) to Mainland (Adekunle bound) of the bridge from the initial arrangement of 12noon to 12am, to between 1.00pm and 12 midnight.
“This adjustment is to allow clearance of backlog of motorists on the bridge from the Mainland heading to the Island,” he said.

Osiyemi stated that the diversion of traffic flow along Iyana-Oworonshoki inwards Adeniji Adele section of the Third Mainland Bridge commenced on the 9th January, 2024 for the first six weeks with the deployment of 250 Traffic Management personnel to minimise inconvenience and ensure hitch free movement for motorists.
Osiyemi appealed to motorists to adhere to the traffic management plans rolled out by the state government, and cooperate with the Traffic Management Officers.
